The Grateful Threads 2025 quilt fundraiser will benefit the Family and Immigration Rights Center in Tallahassee, the only local organization providing free or low-cost deportation defense services.

The Family Immigration Rights Center is dedicated to providing professional and empathetic legal services to individuals and families navigating the complexities of immigration law. FIRC’s work serves an essential role in a community where the odds of representation for those facing deportation range from 34.8 percent in Tallahassee to as low as 18.8 percent in North Florida’s rural counties.

FIRC’s clients come from many different countries and walks of life — from farmworkers and other essential workers, to political activists, journalists and students escaping governmental persecution in their home countries, to women and children fleeing endemic domestic and gang violence. All are individuals and families seeking safety, stability and peace in the United States.
