Exciting news as we experience growth and continue to grow together!

We’re moving to two services! Beginning September 20, 2026, we will have services at 9 a.m. and 10:30 am.

The United Church in Tallahassee has been experiencing growth in worship attendance over the past two years. We formed a Growing Together Team to guide our congregation through a thoughtful process of understanding our church’s growth, addressing challenges, and proposing sustainable solutions that support continued spiritual and community development. Among other long-term and short-term suggestions, the Growing Together Team recommended we move to two services. Then, a Growing Together Implementation Team was formed to help determine what two services would look like for UCT and to help make it happen.

Why Growth Matters

  • People are seeking spirituality, connection, and authenticity — especially post-COVID.

  • UCT offers a safe, welcoming space for all, including children, young families, and marginalized groups.

  • Growth is seen as a way to expand our mission, deepen relationships, and increase civic impact.

What’s Driving Growth

  • Intentional outreach, such as the Pride Festival and our justice ministries

  • A growing children’s ministry that treats kids as full members of the church

  • Virtual options for those outside Tallahassee or those unable to attend in person

  • A strong sense of community, diversity, and shared values

What Excites Us

  • Seeing spiritual and relational growth, especially among youth

  • Creating more opportunities for connection and service

  • Becoming a hub for justice and compassion

  • Welcoming more people into a joyful, inclusive faith community

Values to Preserve

  • Social justice, hospitality, humility, joy

  • Open and Affirming (ONA) commitment to include the LGBTQ+ community in the full life and ministry of our church

  • Authenticity and relationships — “Come as you are.”

  • Quirky personality and emphasis on people over place

  • Faith in action — walking the talk
